Takamura Hamono DP Gold Single Bevel Deba Fish Filleting Knife 150mm

Takamura Hamono DP Gold Single Bevel Deba Fish Filleting Knife 150mm

This Deba fish filleting knife from Takamura Hamono is the ideal choice if you're looking for a quality Japanese knife for seafood preparation.

The Deba knife is one of Japan's traditional cooking knives. Unlike the modern knives that have been developed in the last 100 years or so, like the santoku, nakiri, and gyuto, the deba was first developed prior to 1684 in Sakai, Japan.

Deba knives are thick and heavy, and ideal for dressing and filleting fish. Their large, sharp, single-bevel blades can cut right through fish, and their sharp points and slice cleanly through the soft flesh. The heel of the blade is also commonly used for cracking through the shellfish like crabs and lobsters. If you're a seafood-lover, a deba knife is perfect for your kitchen!

This knife has been crafted by the blacksmiths at Takamura Hamono, a 3rd-generation blacksmithing workshop from Echizen, a town famous for its knives! Their blades are known to be well-refined, and very durable.
